⚽ Liverpool Football Club FC has confirmed a major new kit partnership with adidas, marking the third time the club will collaborate with the global sportswear brand. The multi-year deal, which begins officially on August 1, 2025, will see adidas provide match kits, training wear, and culture apparel for all men’s, women’s, Academy teams, and LFC Foundation staff. While financial details weren’t fully disclosed, reports suggest the new deal is a “significant increase” compared to the club’s current agreement with Nike, which includes a base of £30 million annually and 20% royalties from merchandise sales, pushing total earnings to over £60 million
⚽The agreement rekindles a storied history between Liverpool and adidas, who previously outfitted the club during successful periods from 1985–1996 and 2006–2012. Some of Liverpool’s most iconic kits were created during those eras, and both parties expressed excitement about reigniting that legacy. CEO Billy Hogan highlighted shared ambitions for success and praised Nike for its support over the last five years. adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden echoed the sentiment, celebrating the opportunity to once again provide high-performance and fan-favorite kits for one of football’s most iconic clubs.
⚽ So, what's the unusual quirk? Due to the August start date of the adidas deal, Liverpool will continue wearing their current Nike kits throughout the 2025 pre-season, which typically begins in early July. While the club has not yet finalized pre-season tour locations, Japan and Hong Kong are being considered. The new adidas kits will debut in The Premier League when the 2025/26 season kicks off on August 16, with home and away kits becoming available for fans to purchase starting August 1.
