NHL and Canada Get The Deal Done

🏒 The National Hockey League (NHL) and Rogers Communications (Canadian Communications company) reached a HUGE deal this past week. The agreement is a 12-year, $7.7 US billion to keep the NHL broadcasted in Canada.

🏒 This is extremely important because this deal is significantly higher than what Turner (Turner Broadcasting System, Inc) and ESPN gave to the NHL in 2021. The Canadians love their hockey!

🏒 This news is absolutely HUGE for the NHL. They land the biggest media partnership in its company’s existence, and will continue to make money overseas. With Ovechkin just breaking Gretzky’s goal record, this was the perfect time to get paid. Well done, NHL!
