💰 According to Front Office Sports, due to the breakdown of the "Equal Conference Fund," the Southeastern Conference will earn $26 million automatically for its 14 teams participating in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. Sending a conference champion earns the conference and undisclosed amount, while each additional entry earns a $2 million unit. Surviving and advancing earns additional units, so the potential payout is massive.
👀 However, the NCAA and SEC are under heavy criticism from fans and pundits around of the sport for the situation. Many believe the media's bias for the SEC influenced more bids, even for teams that went 6-12 in conference play. 14 years ago, the Big East sent 11 teams, so this year's entry is unprecedented.
What do you think? Should the SEC have 14 teams in the Big Dance? Will the champion hail from the conference?
